Goshaenur: Books, Reading Room & Art Studio Baithak Khushnawisan: Calligraphy Studio & Sittings - Hujra 1 & 2, Masjid Wazir Khan
گوشہء نور
Goshaenur, at a hujra of Masjid Wazir Khan (adjacent to the Baithak Khushnawisan) is a Library, a Reading Room and a bookstore.
It has a collection of locally published books on language, literature, history & spirituality, primarily for beginners in the subject, in English & Urdu mainly.
The collection augments & supports study programs of the various centres at Hast o Neest. Original art & prints - of Ustads and their students at Hast o Neest - are also available. The space hosts sittings on Islamic spirituality and literature classics - open sittings that can be attended by all interested.
A Corner to Read - The space can be used for reading, writing and the practice of traditional art - as calligraphy, geometry, tazhib & fresco.
-
Goshaenur & Baithak Khusnawisan are spaces where an individual is welcome to spend time, to read, write, study & practice calligraphy or an art, and have tea at the ambience of Masjid Wazir Khan & Androon Lahore!
جہاں آپ کتابیں پڑھ، خرید اور ان پر گفتگو میں شرکت کر سکتے ہیں ۔
Goshaenur started in 2007 in Mian Mir Pind, Upper Mall Lahore. It shifted to the Mall road, 2010 - 2012; and then to Masjid Wazir Khan in 2020/1.

‘Islamic Calligraphy is a lifelong learning; it is a journey where you don’t just learn how to write letters, but you study some different aspects of human experience such as humility, patience, self-discipline, or “adab” (manners).’
”Imam Ali (A.S.) is the first major calligrapher.
Hence, the chain of transmission begins with him, documented through the centuries until today.”
